“Orbital Sunrise” was the first artwork created in outer space. Alexei Leonov, while outside the Voskhod 2 spacecraft, used colored pencils on paper to sketch the view of Earth’s horizon illuminated by the rising Sun. The drawing became a symbolic gesture of human artistic presence beyond Earth.

“The Moon Museum” was a secret art project sent to the Moon in 1969. The tiny ceramic chip carried six engraved drawings from leading contemporary artists, smuggled aboard Apollo 12. It represents a playful yet profound attempt to insert art into the history of space exploration.
